EVENT REVIEW: Ace Cafe German Bikes 'n' Cars evening
Never having been to the Ace Café, I was eagerly awaiting a chance to visit this well established venue and the German Bikes ‘n’ Cars evening seemed the most apt place to start.
Thankfully, after a day of dull grey skies and dribbling rain, the evening remained dry and not to mention relatively traffic free. A quick burst down the M1 and A406 soon saw me arriving ahead of time and having chosen the Alpina (E46 Touring) for my journey (okay, I admit I was a tad ‘weather phobic’ and decided to leave my Z4M Coupe wrapped up in the garage), I was immediately greeted by a few BM’s of assorted variants and quickly marshalled into a nice diagonally nosed line up. By the time I caught up with my fellow comrades and had a bite to eat, some 30 assorted ‘mods and models’ had filled the open plan car park. Clear winter had set in, we braced the icy evening air and began admiring the different vehicles on offer…
From bellowing ICE to colour changing ‘Angel Eye’ headlights (which I personally must confess to liking), illuminated engine bays and fancy rims; there were a host of modifications on display to intrigue even the most discerning fan.
We left feeling pleased to have made the evening and surprisingly interested in an Angel Eye conversion!
Stay tuned for the next one.
